In this tutorial, we will learn how to input point loads and UDL for a beam in CSC Orion 18.
Step 1
Open the LearningOrion tutorial. To add loads to beams, Click, then right click on beam ‘1B10’. Select ‘Edit Member Loads’ from among the options.
Step 2
Click ‘New Load’ on the left side of the BEAM: 1B10 Loading Dialog' dialog box. Selectto use a UDL load. For our UDL load, Insert a 'Dead Load - G' value of 3KN/m. Let’s name it ‘A1’ in the ‘Enter Load Label’ box. Click ‘OK’ to create the new load.
Step 3
Next, we input a point load. Click ‘New Load’. Select . To place it at the center, we input ‘Reference X’ as 2.5m (center of our beam). We use an ‘Imposed Load – Q:’ of 10KN. Click ‘OK’. Click ‘OK’ again in the ‘Beam: 1B10 Dialog’ dialog box to save it.
